The Motor Vehicle Dealers Compensation Fund (MVDCF) is seeking experienced leaders to support consumer protection and confidence in Ontario’s motor vehicle sales marketplace. The deadline for applications has been extended to July 7, 2026.

Open Positions

  • One (1) Registrant Member (Ontario motor vehicle dealer or salesperson).

The MVDCF is a consumer protection program financed by Ontario’s registered motor vehicle dealers. Where a consumer has an unresolved complaint arising from a motor vehicle purchase or lease transaction, the consumer may be eligible to apply for compensation from the MVDCF in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Dealers Act (MVDA). As the oldest and largest fund of its kind in Canada, the MVDCF plays a vital role in protecting consumers and maintaining confidence in Ontario’s automotive marketplace.

Role

  • Help oversee the MVDCF.
  • Review claims for financial restitution and determine eligibility.

Commitment

  • Trustees are appointed for a three (3) year term, renewable to a maximum of six (6) years.
  • The Board of Trustees meets approximately six (6) to eight (8) times per year. Meetings are set at the beginning of the year.
  • Meetings are typically held virtually and scheduled for approximately three hours.
  • Trustees may be asked to serve on committees, as required.
  • Trustees are expected to prepare for meetings and actively contribute to discussion and decision‑making.
