The MVDA Key Elements course was designed for dealers, managers and salespeople who have not previously taken the Automotive Certification Course (as in, those registered before 1999) and for those who took the certification prior to 2010. Individuals can complete the MVDA Key Elements Course through self-study available at ABSC.
Please note: Registration for the MVDA Key Elements Course includes one test attempt. If you do not achieve a passing score, you must re-register and pay the applicable fee to retake the test.
The course covers key regulatory topics, including advertising and disclosure requirements, contract obligations, premises and record-keeping, as well as the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA), the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), and the Code of Ethics.
If you see the MVDA Key Elements course as your education requirement of continuing education, you can complete the MVDA Key Elements Course well in advance of your renewal. Successful completion will apply to your first renewal on or after July 1, 2026, and you are encouraged to plan ahead and allow sufficient time before renewing. This course only needs to be taken once, for your next renewal cycle, you will be required to complete REVS.
