Continuing professional development is a mandatory requirement for registration renewal. Registrants renewing on or after July 1, 2026 must complete the education requirement listed in their OMVIC portal, either REVS (OMVIC’s in-house courses) or the MVDA Key Elements Course.
Structure and delivery of REVS
REVS courses will be:

- Delivered online and compatible with desktop, mobile, and tablet devices
- Approximately 4–6 hours in length
- Assessments throughout, requiring a minimum passing score of 80% (with unlimited attempts)
- Tied to registration renewal: dealers complete every year, salespersons every two years
- Available in the OMVIC portal 90 days before renewal for registrations with renewal dates on or after July 1, 2026.
REVS fee and access
Access to REVS requires payment prior to enrolment. The fee for REVS is $99, payable up to 90 days before a registrant’s renewal date. This fee is separate from the renewal fee and is designed to recover the costs of delivering and maintaining REVS.
Confirm your education requirement
Log in to the OMVIC portal to view your education requirement. Registrants renewing on or after July 1, 2026 must complete the applicable education requirement before renewing, either REVS (OMVIC’s in-house courses) or the MVDA Key Elements Course through Georgian College.
Important – plan ahead
Continuing professional development must be successfully completed before you renew your registration.
Please note: If your required education is not completed before your renewal date, your registration will not be renewed and will automatically expire. You will not be permitted to trade in motor vehicles until your registration is successfully reinstated.
Why continuing professional development matters
In a regulated sector such as motor vehicle sales, continuing professional development is an important mechanism for ensuring registrants remain informed of their obligations and evolving regulatory expectations.
