Launching OMVIC’s 2024 Annual Report with a Look Back on Progress and Priorities

OMVIC’s comprehensive 2024 report is now available and offers an in-depth look at the organization’s progress, challenges, and vision for the future. Together with registrants, OMVIC has made important strides in supporting a fair, safe, and informed marketplace for motor vehicle sales in Ontario.

Key highlights from the report include:

• The Board’s approval of OMVIC’s 2024–2026 Strategic Plan and the first year of its implementation.
• Launch of the Consumer Advisory Council and Industry Advisory Council, strengthening dialogue with stakeholders.
• Government approval to begin development of a Continuing Professional Development program to enhance industry education.
• Continued public education efforts—awareness of curbsiders rose to 27%, up from 25% in 2023.
• Strong enforcement results: 1,242 charges laid against 169 alleged curbsiders.
