Bringing industry and consumer perspectives together
The IAC brings together automotive industry professionals who share their experience and insight into dealer operations and regulatory requirements. Their feedback helps OMVIC better understand the priorities of dealers and salespeople.
The CAC provides insight into consumer experiences, concerns and expectations. This feedback helps OMVIC improve outreach, provide clearer guidance and encourage informed purchasing decisions.
Council members are selected based on their experience, professional background, and ability to represent different perspectives across Ontario. This helps to ensure that both industry and consumer interests are well represented in their advice to OMVIC. For more information about how each council operates, read the IAC Terms of Reference and CAC Terms of Reference.
Welcoming new members to the IAC
Ilan Mints and Joanne Yulo both join IAC. Ilan is general counsel at Downtown AutoGroup and brings extensive legal and regulatory experience, overseeing compliance matters across 10 dealerships representing 13 automotive brands. Joanne serves as financial services manager at Audi Brampton, with more than 24 years of dealership experience, including expertise in compliance, operations, and fraud prevention.
Welcoming a new Chair and member to the CAC
OMVIC congratulates Ruth Uy on her appointment as CAC Chair. Ruth has more than 20 years of experience in governance, regulation, risk management and service improvement.
Faaiza Ali joins the CAC as a new member. She serves as Vice President, Redevelopment & Support Services at Scarborough Health Network, drawing on her leadership experience in organizational operations and stakeholder engagement.
Supporting a stronger motor vehicle sales marketplace
By bringing industry and consumer perspectives together, both councils help OMVIC develop practical approaches to marketplace challenges. Their contributions support informed decision-making, stronger compliance, and a fair marketplace where registered dealers and salespeople can succeed.
