OMVIC attended the 2026 Automotive Conference & Expo (ACE), hosted by the Motor Vehicle Retailers of Ontario (MVRO) on October 15–16 in Niagara Falls. Our team appreciated the opportunity to connect with industry members and dealer vendors from across Ontario, share insights, and discuss how we can continue to support a strong and informed motor vehicle sales industry.
Connecting with Ontario’s motor vehicle sales professionals
Throughout the conference, OMVIC engaged with registered dealers and salespeople from across the province. These conversations provided opportunities to share information about OMVIC’s work, answer questions, and highlight educational resources that help registrants uphold their regulatory responsibilities.
Events like ACE also allow OMVIC to hear directly from industry professionals about their experiences and challenges. This feedback helps OMVIC better understand the needs of the registered industry and identify opportunities to improve its guidance and services.

Engaging with provincial representatives
During the visit, OMVIC CEO Maureen Harquail met the Hon. Sam Oosterhoff, Member of Provincial Parliament for Niagara West and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness. Maureen and the Minister discussed the unique issues facing the registered auto sales industry in rural communities, and how government and industry can work together to protect and educate consumers.
Continuing the conversation
OMVIC thanks MVRO for hosting the 2026 ACE Conference and everyone who took the time to connect with our team.
By maintaining open communication with dealers, salespeople, community safety partners, and elected officials, OMVIC continues to build relationships that support a fair, informed and competitive motor vehicle sales marketplace.
