SAAQ Temporary Outage

The Socit de l’assurance automobile du Qubec (SAAQ) is a Quebec Crown corporation responsible for licensing drivers and vehicles in the province of Quebec. SAAQ contributes to the enforcement of several laws and regulations within Quebec and monitors road transportation.

On February 20, 2023, the SAAQ will begin offering new online services. Due to these system updates, many of their services will be interrupted, including vehicle registration updates in the province of Quebec. To find out which services are available, see their FAQ page.

During the system update beginning today, Tuesday, January 31st to Thursday, February 16th, the link between their registration system and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will be unavailable. As a result, the MTO is pausing vehicle registrations and driver’s license changes from Quebec during that time. Customers are being advised to return to Service Ontario centers to complete transactions when the system is back online on February 17th.
