Windsor, ON, October, 02, 2025 – The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) is warning consumers in Windsor and Essex County to avoid purchasing vehicles from Naserati Auto, operated by Amir Al-Nasiri at 1672 Drouillard Road, Windsor. Naserati Auto and Al-Nasiri are not registered with OMVIC and are not legally authorized to sell motor vehicles in Ontario.
Al-Nasiri currently faces six charges before the courts under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act, 2002 (MVDA) and the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (CPA). OMVIC is currently investigating further complaints.
“We are urging anyone who purchased a vehicle from Amir Al-Nasiri or Naserati Auto to contact OMVIC immediately,” said Jeff Donnelly, Chief Consumer Protection Officer at OMVIC. “Consumers who buy from unregistered sellers risk losing thousands of dollars, with no protection or recourse under Ontario legislation.”
Consumers who have purchased a vehicle from Al-Nasiri or Naserati Auto are encouraged to call OMVIC at 1-800-943-6002.
Car-buying risks from unregistered sellers
Individuals or businesses selling vehicles without OMVIC registration are not bound by the consumer protection standards of the MVDA, leaving buyers vulnerable to financial loss and possible legal issues.
Car buyers should know:
- Buying from an unregistered seller means you are not protected by the MVDA.
- You would not be eligible for the Motor Vehicle Dealers Compensation Fund (MVDCF), which reimburses eligible consumers who experience a proven financial loss from a trade with a registered dealer.
Tips to protect yourself
- Always verify a dealer’s registration using OMVIC’s Dealer Search Tool. Only registered dealers are legally authorized to sell vehicles in Ontario
- Ask for a Used Vehicle Information Package (UVIP) to review lien and history details.
- Be cautious of sellers who will not provide proper documentation.
- Always have a trusted mechanic inspect the vehicle before purchase.
- If you suspect you have purchased a vehicle from an unregistered dealer, contact OMVIC right away by calling 1-800-943-6002 or by email [email protected].
