The Ontario government will expand its workplace inspection campaign to protect workers and consumers at essential businesses, like dealerships. Starting January 20, 2021, more than 300 provincial offences officers will visit essential businesses to ensure compliance.

Provincial offences officers will visit an expanded range of workplaces across Ontario to educate and ticket businesses not complying with COVID-19 health and safety regulations.

Registrants should always follow public health measures set out by the Provincial Government.

These efforts build on the province’s “Stay Safe All Day” campaign, focused on workplace inspections in high transmission areas at workplaces, like break rooms. The campaign has resources dealers can access here.

OMVIC also has resources for dealers with its guidelines for dealership sales operations available on its website.
