OMVIC Launches Best Practices Resources

For the past several months, OMVIC, with stakeholder input and support, created a series of Best Practices resources designed to assist dealers meet and exceed the minimum requirements set out in the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act. The Best Practices provide helpful tips about:
- verifying customers’ identification
- protecting customers’ personal information
- salespersons advertising inventory on their personal social media
- disclosing mileage
- leveraging stock numbers
- valuing trade-ins
- financial management
To launch the series, Tips for Verifying a Customer’s Identity and Protecting Personal Information are now available on OMVIC’s website. Dealers and salespeople can expect a new Best Practice in their email every Thursday over the next five weeks on the remaining topics.
