OMVIC Launches Best Practices Resources

For the past several months, OMVIC, with stakeholder input and support, created a series of Best Practices resources designed to assist dealers meet and exceed the minimum requirements set out in the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act. The Best Practices provide helpful tips about:

  1. verifying customers’ identification
  2. protecting customers’ personal information
  3. salespersons advertising inventory on their personal social media
  4. disclosing mileage
  5. leveraging stock numbers
  6. valuing trade-ins
  7. financial management

To launch the series, Tips for Verifying a Customer’s Identity and Protecting Personal Information are now available on OMVIC’s website. Dealers and salespeople can expect a new Best Practice in their email every Thursday over the next five weeks on the remaining topics.
