Brampton, ON, – The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) is warning consumers in the Peel Region to avoid purchasing vehicles from Kalsi Motor Wholesale Inc. and Anit Pal Singh, operating at 10134 Hurontario Street, Brampton L7A 0E4. Their registrations were terminated in 2022, yet they continue to engage in illegal motor vehicle sales.
OMVIC reminds car buyers that purchasing from Kalsi Motor Wholesale Inc., Anit Pal Singh, or any other unregistered seller puts them at risk of serious financial loss. These sellers are not authorized under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA) or the Consumer Protection Act, and transactions with them are a direct violation of the MVDA.
Car-buying tips to protect consumers
- Always verify a dealership’s legitimacy using OMVIC’s Dealer Search Tool. Only registered dealers are legally allowed to sell vehicles in Ontario. Buying from a registered dealer ensures your rights are protected if something goes wrong.
- Stay informed and vigilant. Knowing your rights and following best practices helps you make confident decisions while supporting a fair and trustworthy vehicle marketplace. OMVIC is committed to protecting consumers and promoting transparency in Ontario’s auto industry.
- The Motor Vehicle Dealers Compensation Fund (MVDCF) is available only when buying from an OMVIC-registered dealer. The fund may reimburse eligible buyers who experience proven financial losses from a vehicle purchase, lease, or consignment transaction.
Background
In 2022, the Registrar of OMVIC, Ontario’s vehicle sales regulator, revoked the registrations of Kalsi Motor Wholesale Inc. and Anit Pal Singh under the MVDA. Despite this, both have continued to sell motor vehicles without a licence, an illegal practice that poses a serious risk to car buyers.
