OMVIC reminds dealers and salespersons participating in the upcoming Toronto Motorcycle and Powersports Show and the Toronto Spring Camping and RV Show that they must possess a valid and up to date OMVIC Registration Certificate. This certificate must accurately specify their current employer(s) by name.

Ensure that your OMVIC registration is valid

It’s important to note that in Ontario, anyone engaged in motor vehicle trade, including motorcycles and RVs, must be registered with OMVIC before commencing any business activities. This includes buying, selling, leasing, advertising or exchanging an interest in a motor vehicle or negotiating or inducing or attempting to induce the buying, selling, leasing or exchanging of an interest in a motor vehicle.

To avoid any inconvenience or repercussions, ensure your registration is current before participating in any events or shows. Our enforcement team members will be on-site at the shows, conducting spot checks to verify compliance with the legislation by all participants, dealers, and salespersons.

In addition, it is the responsibility of dealers and salespeople to ensure that show organizers have the approved offsite trade permit from OMVIC in order to conduct business at these events.

To change, add or renew registration, utilize OMVIC’s online registration services – it’s fast, easy and available 24/7 on OMVIC’s website, or contact OMVIC’s registration department at 1-800-943-6002 or via email at [email protected].
