OMVIC is currently searching for two Education Officers for the Toronto-based corporate office.

Who is OMVIC:

OMVIC (Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council) is Ontario’s vehicle sales regulator. OMVIC enforces the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act and other consumer protection statutes for the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. OMVIC’s mandate and role is to maintain a fair and informed marketplace by protecting the rights of consumers, enhancing industry professionalism, and ensuring fair, honest, and open competition for registered motor vehicle dealers. This is achieved by maintaining strict dealer/salesperson registration requirements; inspecting all Ontario dealers (new and used); providing free complaint handling to consumers; developing/delivering consumer and dealer education/awareness programs; and investigating and prosecuting industry non-compliance and illegal sales (curbsiding).

Position Summary:

The Education Officer is involved in all aspects of the design, development and delivery of OMVIC’s registrant education, including the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program and registrant webinars. The Education Officer will have a passion for excellence in instructional design, online and eLearning development, and facilitation, and will be excited by the challenge of a dynamic environment. As an Education Officer at OMVIC, the goal will be to contribute to the success of OMVIC educational programs that support consumer protection and enhanced industry professionalism in the automotive sales sector in Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Education to design, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and materials.
  • Support assessment and improvement of training programs.
  • Develop and review learning content (e.g., presentations, toolkits, e-learning, videos).
  • Deliver training through face-to-face, blended, online, and webinar formats.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and standards.
  • Help create guidelines and frameworks for consistency.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt content.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the CPD program in the LMS.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on salesperson and dealer compliance of the CPD program through the LMS.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, internal teams, and external partners to ensure content quality and identify educational needs.
  • Coordinate with communications to align with branding and promote programs.
  • Develop tools to measure program effectiveness.
  • Collect and analyze feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on outcomes and impacts.
  • Perform cross-functional.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in education or equivalent in Adult Ed/Instructional Design.
  • CTP/CTDP certification, preferred.
  • 2+ years in instructional design and facilitation.
  • Project management experience, preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, LMS, and eLearning tools (preferably Articulate 360).
  • Able to work independently and build strong relationships across all levels.
